イギリスの教育は日本の教育システムと比べると一年先のレベルを学びます。
イギリスの高校卒業時の学力は日本の大学一年生レベルにあたるので、日本の高校を卒業後にイギリスの大学へ進学する場合は足りない学力を補うためにFoundation（ファウンデーションコース）およびインターナショナルYear1を受講しなくてはいけません。
エクセター大学では海外(日本)からの留学生を受け入れるためのファウンデーションコース、インターナショナルYear1を設置しています。
日本の高校を卒業後、英語および学問の要件を満たさない人でもファウンデーションコースおよびインターナショナル1年を受講することで大学の学士課程に進学することができます。英語と学力は最低レベル要件があるので直接学校に問い合わせるといいでしょう。
